Robert

Robert built a strong foundation when the company was founded in 1991. His core values along with his hard work and perseverance have continued through the years. He will always be a huge part of what the company has become. Although his children grew up around the business, he never dreamt that four of his five children would be operating the business alongside of him. His love for the business continues after all these years as he enjoys semi-retirement. He is fulfilled seeing his children’s drive and passion for their brand and business while never losing sight of their roots. “The longevity and success of our business is a direct result of our dedication to distributing the very best quality products available. Trish

Trish has been with the company since 1998 and has grown immensely from the ground up while learning and taking on many responsibilities and positions throughout the years before becoming the GM. She is proud of our Big Red team and the core values they are built upon. Her passions are business development and customer relationships. Trish has focused on taking the BIG RED OIL product line to market, while also working very closely with Big Red’s partners to continue providing exceptional quality licensed and approved products at competitive prices. “I’m proud of our roots and how we continue to grow while connecting and building genuine relationships with our Big Red family, customers and partners.”

Kendra

Kendra joined the company in 2012. She quickly recognized her passion for a personable relationship with both our team and customers. She thrived in sales before transitioning into purchasing, which was the perfect stepping stone to becoming our Operations Manager. Through the years, as we continue to grow, we’ve been able to maintain the same level of unsurpassed care and service to all.  “We are a company that cares for honest relationships, not only with our team, but also with our customers.”

Dave 

Dave has been with the company since 2013 and knew right away that Sales was an area he wanted to dive right into. His witty, personable sense of humour and love for the technical side of the business has contributed to his success. He represented BIG RED OIL on the west side of the GTA before focusing on the development of and service to our resellers across Southern Ontario. He continues to grow our BIG RED OIL line through his commitment to our customers while providing knowledgeable advice. “There’s nothing I enjoy more than being on the road face to face with our customers. I’m extremely proud when I see our BIG RED OIL line on our customer’s shelves. It turns out I’m quite the spec guru and love diving in to assist customers with their needs while keeping up with the technical advancements in our industry.”

Heather

Heather joined the company in 2015 and worked in several positions within the company while finishing her degree. She took over the credit department in 2020 and has never looked back.  She loves that our personalized care and family touch is what attracts customers to us.  “When customers call, we usually recognize their voice so we can start addressing them by name right away. Our customer’s loyalty is exceptional. They appreciate the way we treat them. This motivates us to stay true to our commitment to the highest of personalized care every time.”

OUR STORY

Robert Lennox, our President and founder joined a multi-million dollar fuel company in 1985 as VP of Finance and learned the oil and fuel distribution business through his position there. In 1990, that company was sold and he purchased the small lubricants division and founded the company First Choice Petroleum Inc. in 1991. The “BIG RED” trademark was acquired at the same time and dates back to 1972. It was considered the premier 2 cycle oil in Canada at the time. The business expanded into fuel distribution in our first year and after rapidly growing that division, it was sold in 2002. As a result of this sale, a new company was incorporated called Big Red Oil Products Inc., which was focused strictly on the marketing of premium lubricants. Robert’s children grew up around the business with the second generation officially joining in its 7th year. Leading into our silver anniversary we felt strongly about building and growing our own brand and officially launched our complete BIG RED OIL line which is now our bestselling brand. With over 30 years in the industry, we offer a one-stop shop for all businesses and take pride in helping our customers, providing personal service to all. We are now one of last family owned and operated businesses of its kind in Ontario and we are stronger than ever. We look forward to our continued success, dedication and commitment to our loyal customers for many years to come.
